Er wurde 1983 im ladinisch-sprachigen Urtij\u00ebi, Italien, geboren. Nach seinem BA-Abschluss der Kommunikationswissenschaften an der Universit\u00e4t Salzburg studierte er Film an der Hochschule f\u00fcr Bildende K\u00fcnste in Hamburg. Martin Prinoth ist Gerd Ruge Stipendiat und Teilnehmer des internationalen Filmentwicklungsprogramms EsoDoc 2020. 2019 erhielt er das Robert Bosch Stipendium \u201eGrenzg\u00e4nger\u201c. Sein Deb\u00fctfilm \u201eDie f\u00fcnfte Himmelsrichtung\u201c wurde bei DOK Leipzig 60 uraufgef\u00fchrt und erhielt mehrere Nominierungen und Preise, darunter den VisioniDOC-Preis f\u00fcr das beste italienische Dokumentarfilmdeb\u00fct.
